Backwards spraying

A unique feature

The hydraulically operated (patented) nozzle control system allows the fluid to be sprayed in virtually any desired direction, within split seconds. Using a joystick control and the simultaneous movement of the telescopic boom, the nozzle can be moved in a – for operators intuitive – “sweeping” pattern for quickest possible deicing operations.

A unique feature is the ability to spray backwards, enabling the operator to position the deicing truck behind the trailing edge, while at the same time spraying from the leading edge and backwards, as recommended. Access to the tail is quick, as the deicer is already located between main wing and tail, and for single aisle and smaller aircraft (ATR, Q400 and similar), the deicer does not even have to be re-positioned.
